Establishment of Japanese Office Location

Home > Q&A > Q&A Vol.02

We are thinking of using a virtual office as our new office location in order to hold down initial costs. Are there any particular problems in starting a business in Japan?

We see no particular problems solely as to setting up your new office location. However, if you hire foreign national employees and/or obtain any permit or license, one of the related requirements may not allow you to use a virtual office. So, you need to beforehand clarify how you advance your business.

Depending on your industry or services, your potential business partner may decline the initial transaction with you, feeling your company is not reliable as it is located at a virtual office.

So, it is advisable to consider how long you use a virtual office and when you move to a real office in light of your market entry plan.
